තාපගතිවේදයේ සහ ඉංජිනේරුවේදයේ දී තාප එන්ජින් (ඉංග්‍රීසි: heat engine) යනු තාපය, යාන්ත්‍රික කාර්යයක් කළ හැකි, විශේෂයෙන් ම යාන්ත්‍රික ශක්තිය වැනි, ප්‍රයෝජනවත් ශක්තිය බවට හරවන, පද්ධතියක් වෙයි.[1][2]
