Second Stop
Warmest smiles, banderitas and festive atmosphere from the Lawisanons greeted the participants of the Suroy Suroy Sugbo SMB (Santa Fe, Madridejos, Bantayan) Escapade.
No less than the mayor himself entertained the guests with his rendition of “Buwan”, among other songs, and the local dancers wowed the crowed with their Isda Festival Dance.
Governor Gwendolyn Garcia couldn’t say no when the crowd asked for to dance the “Mabuhi Ka Sugbuanon” during the finale.
The beauty queen guests who were contestants of the Bb. Pilipinas 2020 feasted on the local kakanins such as banana cue, camote cue, pitsi-pitsi, scallops and of course, the famous fried danggit (rabbitfish) and fried dried nokos (squid) produced by Lawisanons themselves whose main livelihood is fishing.
Mayor Sally dela Fuente said Madridejos may not be popular in tourist destinations but they also benefit from the reopening of the tourism industry because they supply seafoods for hotels and resorts.
