Meegasthenna maha vidyalaya

  The origin of our school was in 12th December in 1937, in a rural village called Meegasthenna  at Kegalle district and Dehiowita Zone of Education ,under less facilities such as one bench and a wooden table.In 2003 school has become the state of Maha Vidyalaya. The students who passed advance level study in the University .Not only that, the students who  passed ordinary level  exam don’t  like to leave the school.But now we have become Maha Vidyala and we have English medium classes also.Our school is the first school to introduce the 5S concept to the whole system of education.We invite you  to read the fascinating story of that school. Situation Of the School The School is situated in hilly area faced to the Adamspeeck.The environ ment is very calm and quite.just like you entered to a religiouse place.there are many trees in school premises.It helps to create a cool and attractive environment for learning activities.You will meet the stare case of entrance to the office when you walk through the Volleyball cote.then you will see the “Budumedura ” and pond with water lilies.If you are coming  from Colombo first you have to come to Avissawella city and then to Karawanella and then to Yatiyanthota. From there to reach Meegasthenna you should come about 7 km.  The difficultness of the road which you have to pass will vanish when you experience the beauty of the environment. The breeze is soft and cool. The main income of the villages  generate from tea, and rubber. Pupils come to the school in the early morning by foot from far away mountains.
