problem with Sinhalese in Windows etc[සංස්කරණය]
Please, Can you help me?
I am trying to change my computer, so that it will be possible to read and to write in Sinhalese, and to send files with Sinhalese text to others, without the text being changed on the way to them.
I have followed the instructions on homepage Wikipedia:Sinhala Font Guide.
1. I use Internet Explorer 6.0 service pack 2, so I have downloaded and installed Sinhala Pack, and made the instructred changes. The font Malithi Web is installed on my computer. 2. I use Windows XP Home edition with service pack 2, and it is using Swedish as language on menus etc. Then I downloaded, extracted and tried to install SinhalaXP0.4.zip BUT when I double clicked Setup.exe, and pressed the button "Install", then I got the following blocking message:
"Setup cannot update your Windows XP files, because the language installed on your system is different from the update language."
What does this mean? Can I make some changes, so that the installation becomes possible? Because I want to be able to write English, Swedish and Sinhalese on the same computer, so that an friend of mine can communicate with people on Sri Lanka, and write translations into Sinhala on her computer here in Sweden.
