ටිකිරි කුමාරයා

පළමුවන රාජසිංහ ( Iවන රාජසිංහ / සීතාවක රාජසිංහ ), ක්‍රි.ව. 1581 සිට 1593 දක්වා සීතාවක රාජධානියේ රාජ්‍ය කර වු ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨ සිංහල රජ කෙනෙකි. එතුමාගේ නිර්භිතබාවය නිසා එතුමා මහත් ප්‍රසිද්ධියක් උසුලයි. ටිකිරි බණ්ඩාර ලෙස සීතාවක රාජධානියේ මායාදුන්නේ රජුට දාව එතුමා උපන්නේය. ආක්‍රමණික පෘතුගිසීන්ට එරෙහිව කල ජයාග්‍රාහි වීර සටනින් පසු සිංහයන්ගේ රජා යන අරුථ ඇති රාජසිංහ යන නාමයෙන් එතුමා රජ විය.

ගවේෂණය

While his main battle was against the Portuguese forces in defense of the sovereignty of the Sinhala monarch, he had to battle with numerous internal forces—some regional and individual, supported directly and indirectly by forces from පෘතුගාලය.

The battle with the Portuguese in Mulleriyawa was the bloodiest fought to date. While the Portuguese held guns and more advanced weapons, the Sinhalese army simply equipped with swords and their ancient fighting methods called Angam Pora, defeated the entire Portuguese army. Accounts indicate^{[තහවුරු​ කරන්න]} the vast paddy field in Mulleriyawa turned red with the blood of the dead Portuguese soldiers. This was the greatest defeat an European army had in an Asian land. It still remains that way.

After the great battle was fought, the young prince "Tikiri Bandara" was throned king under the name Rajasinghe.
