Requests for the bot flag should be made on this page. This wiki uses the standard bot policy, and allows global bots and automatic approval of certain types of bots. Other bots should apply below, and then request access from a steward if there is no objection.
The following bot types may also be automatically approved:
- Interwiki-link adding bots and double-redirect fixing bots.
- Image maintenance bots approved on Wikimedia Commons.
- User and article talk archival bots which are already approved elsewhere.
- Bots with global rights granted by the developers or stewards for maintenance tasks.
- Bots run by local administrators to perform mass automated edits.
The following bot types will not be automatically approved:
- Bots requiring local permissions beyond bot, including any bot needing sysop or bureaucrat privileges. Please have at least a one-week local discussion before approving such bots. Bots using Steward-granted global rights are exempt, but the bot-owner is responsible for the functioning of the bot.
- Spellchecking bots, translation bots, namespace-link-correcting bots.
